Doppelgängers! With... Will King?

Will and Madryn walk in the shoes of the Doppelgänger! Or is it the other way around? We unpack shapeshifters, shadows, spectres, and timeline travellers to find meaning in the mirror, and follow this devious dead ringer through a ton of pop culture. Finally, we're joined by Hans (Will King), who shares his big surprize, lets us in on the group chat hahas, and totally didn't dupe you all and write this little episode info thing.

Ogres! With Dewey Stewart.

Will and Madryn welcome you to the world of Ogres! From castles to caves, this primitive powerhouse has gotten into some hairy fairy tale situations all over the world. These hungry and heavy giants are boss monsters, lonely outsiders, and content carnivores, but they're also approx 0.325 tons of fun! Today we’re joined by Gozerian (Dewey Stewart), who teaches us about the hottest pepper in the world, the true story behind the Shrek franchise, and why you should never share an important google doc with the public.

Zombies! With Gordon Harper.

Hold on to your hazmat suits, because Will and Madryn are going to wrangle some Zombies! From spiritual servitude to scary science, this relentless monster is coming for you. We look at all sorts of undead origins, and dive into iconic infections, zom-coms, Romero rampages, and more! Then we're joined by Igor the Wasted (Gordon Harper), who shares the key to zombie communication, fishing for food, and his missing chunks.

Blobs! With Christopher Seeney.

Will and Madryn take a goopy, slimy, oozy, trip to BLOB Town. We squeeze all the supernatural and earthly origins out of this gelatinous monster. We've got scary symbiotes, glittery gloop, sentient space rocks, Chu-chus, and more! Finally, we're joined by Glorbisclorblius a.k.a. King Blob (Christopher Seeney). Who reveals the secret of his nobility, his offspring, and Planet Scrot.

Creature Feature: The Alien Franchise!

Will and Madryn are awakened from cryo-sleep to unpack the Alien franchise in our second ever Creature Feature! We cover the core story beats of Alien, the inspiration that led to the first film, and the evolution of the franchise. Then we talk about our favourite Xenomorph designs, share our best acid filled impressions, rank our top movie highlights and kills, and give out the all important Creatchie Awards. Hold on to your face-huggers and enjoy the Weyland-Yutani ride.

Vampires! With Corey Palmer.

Will and Madryn unearth the coffin of the vampire! We suck some bloody specifics from these seductive sinners, and find the historical humans that brought this undead creature to life. We cover the many abilities, and Transylvanian tropes, that give this monster their cult status. And we also put our finger on the pulse of vampire pop culture, from gothic literature to naturalist newcomers. Finally, we meet Eddy (Corey Palmer) who takes us through his millennia of existence, and dishes on viking murder sprees, love life, heavy duty sunscreen, and his newfound purpose as a birthday clown.

Summer Vacation!

Madryn and Will are on summer vacation this week, visiting some of our monster friends from around the world! But we've got a spooky recommendation to our friends in the GTA. Dead Broke (written and performed by Will King) plays at the Toronto Fringe Festival until July 17th! At least according to the interns... The details are fuzzy.

The Boogeyman! With Alex Clay.

Will and Madryn peer into the darkness with a pursuit of the Boogeyman. We explore the extremity of fear in this monstrous imagination-wielding child-threatening figure, and root our thoughts in language, classic horror films, music, seasonal specials, VR, and more! Finally, we're joined by long time listener, Peter Boogeyson (Alex Clay)! Peter takes us through portal powers, boogey-school, secret sauce, survival tips, and his new lifestyle.

Sirens! With Brianna Love.

Will and Madryn are lured into the song of the Sirens! We hook into the binding facts of these Greek sea nymphs, and find all the variations of these evil divas. Then we dig into the alluring world of Siren pop culture, from Polish art house films, to classic paintings. Finally, Ligeia (Brianna Love) takes us through her island lifestyle, Siren diet, bed and breakfast reviews, song contests, and Swifties!

Chupacabras! With Carlos Diaz.

Will and Madryn are visited by Chupacabras! We follow the goat suckers origin in the Americas, and all their top travel destinations. From wild word of mouth encounters, to 90s genre film, this modern monster has made a strong impact on our creative subconscious. Finally, Pasqualito (Carlos Diaz), joins us from Scarborough, and tells us what he looks for in a goat (or a raccoon), his 72 and 1/2 siblings, chipmunk racing, and Uno night.
