The Monstrology Mailbox Returns... Again!

Will and Madryn open the Monstrology Mailbox for the third time! We kick things off with a scorching hot game of “hot or not,” and then dive into YOUR questions from the human and monster communities. Ever wanted to know which monster resembles our ex or co-worker? Or where aliens should park for first contact? This is the episode for YOU!

Trolls! With Gordon Harper.

Will and Madryn talk Trolls! We study the history of this classic creature, and its many geological variants, from common bridge dwelling delinquents to giant Jötnars. Then we look at the deep impact Trolls have had on pop culture, including Troll-hunters, wizard fighters, song singers, internet instigators, god fighters, and more! Finally, we’re joined by Trollman Domingo (Gordon Harper) who shows off his landscapes, and discusses light sensitivity, his usual diet, and whether he would do a Spider-Man bridge painting commission for a bag of travel jewels.

Bloody Mary! A Monstrology Special with 5-Timer Christopher Seeney and Corey Palmer.

Will and Madryn bring Bloody Mary to the pod for a very special episode! We look at her gruesome origins, freaky folklore, and the star-making pop culture she inspired. Then we summon Bloody Mary herself (5-Timer Christopher Seeney), who tells us about her place in hell, and her favourite pre-death activity, before we throw her a big party in the Monstrology bunker! With appearances by Nick Vardolos the half minotaur half vampire bloodhorn, King Blob, Snow the yeti, and Andy Faris Schwarzenegger Pratt the dinosaur (all played by Chris), plus Eddie the vampire clown and Biggie the bigfoot (Corey Palmer) swing by. Get your cocktails and Pajamas ready, there’s a lot going on in the bathroom… This is a fun one!

Creature Feature: Monsters at the Oscars!

Will and Madryn celebrate our favourite Oscar-nominated horror films and monsters in this special edition Creature Feature!
We talk about horror’s showing at the 2025 Academy Awards (including a win for The Substance!), what the academy looks for in a horror movie, and the iconic snubs they left behind. Then we go through our top 5 horror films, our top 5 monsters, and our honorary mentions that didn’t quite make the cut.

Will-o'-the-wisp! With Annabel David.

Will and Madryn follow the light of the Will-o'-the-wisp! First we illuminate their path through history, going back to the 14th century, and leading travellers astray all over the world! Then we look at the Will-o-wisps appearances in pop culture, from courageous Pixar classics, to absent minded hobbits, and troublemaking video game ghosts. Finally, we head to Blockbuster to meet Emberly (Annabel David) who takes us through their very scary Letterboxd 4, and teaches Will-o-Toronto about their physical form, their potential origin, and their favourite friends and foes…

Angels! With Ian Goff.

Will and Madryn search out a higher power in Angels! We study the ancient history of these winged guardians, and look at their benevolent, malevolent, and ambivalent variants. Then we put some proverbial angels on our shoulders to talk through pop cultures greatest manifestations of this celestial monster. Finally, we’re joined by Hasdiel (Ian Goff) who talks about the power of heavenly singing, gods true form, his divine interventions, cats vs dogs, and fallen angel paperwork. 

Gnomes! With Lisa Graston.

Will and Madryn get in the know with Gnomes! We look at the bombastic history and evolution of this magical earth elemental, and their crafty appearances over the past 400+ years. We guarantee you’ve seen one before! Then we dig into a range of pop culture: underwhelming adaptations, delightful sequels, tabletop travellers, and garden hopping locals. Finally, we’re joined by Gnimble (Lisa Graston) from Gnometown, USA. Who talks about woodwork, allergies, travel plans, dwarf gangs, and a wild margarita fuelled night in Cabo...

Will and Madryn get personal with an endless investigation into time loops! We break down the terrific tropes that make these stories stable. Got existential dread? Want to take control of your life? Stuck in a death loop? We’ve got the cure in here somewhere… Then we reveal our individual favourite Top 5 time loops, and discuss what makes them so special. Jack Frost! With Corey Palmer.

Will and Madryn prepare for the holidays with Jack Frost!
We talk about the Jack-Of-All-Phrases that evolved into this icy sprite, and the myths and monsters around the world that froze this monster into our modern consciousness. Then we look at Jack’s appearances in pop culture, from heartwarming family favourites, to serial killer scientific experiment snowman killers, and everything finely chiseled or rolled up in-between.
Finally, we meet Jack Frost (Corey Palmer) himself, who tells us about selling his life story, the true history of his cart-crash, and fashionable scarf logic, before pitching us some chilling new product ideas to tackle global warming. Plus, we have an update on the frost realm band!

Will and Madryn uncover the power of Liches!
We look at the history that created these highly skilled undead sorcerers, and the origin events or soul binding contracts that grant them immortality. Then we explore the pop culture of this modern monster, from wizarding or pig-owning movies, to a variety of video game big bads.
Finally, we’re joined Parax:)xus the Soul Ripper (Daniel Yaworsky). Who comes to us from the frost realm, and teaches us about soul phylacteries and social contracts.
